AegiScan ("the Application") is an offline-first document scanner and PDF utility developed by Quovella Studio. We believe privacy is a fundamental right. AegiScan is engineered so that your sensitive documents never leave your physical device.

1. Zero Telemetry & Zero Data Collection

AegiScan does not collect, record, track, transmit, or monetize any personal information or document data. There are:

No account creation or login systems.
No tracking cookies or analytics SDKs.
No remote servers or cloud processing backends.
Zero transmission of document images, extracted text, or PDF outputs.

2. Device Hardware Permissions & Local Processing

AegiScan requests minimal permissions strictly necessary for local processing:

Camera (android.permission.CAMERA): Used exclusively to stream live video frames to device memory for optical document framing, perspective alignment, and photo capture. Image processing takes place 100% on-device.
Local Storage & App Cache: Generated PDFs and temporary image buffers are created within the app's secure internal sandbox (context.filesDir / cache). Exporting or sharing files is handled entirely through the Android System Share Sheet under your direct control.

3. On-Device Machine Learning (Google ML Kit)

Document edge detection, keystone rectification, and Optical Character Recognition (OCR) use on-device Google ML Kit models. All image analysis and text extraction execute locally within your phone's processor and RAM.

4. In-App Purchases & Billing

AegiScan offers an optional one-time lifetime Pro upgrade processed directly by Google Play In-App Billing. Quovella Studio does not process, store, or receive payment credentials, credit card details, or banking information. All transactions are securely handled by Google Play as the Merchant of Record.
